Another $10,000 to Environmental Defense Saturday, December 20, 2008  •  News

I am happy to announce that I've donated the total of all holiday online print sales to Environmental Defense, same as last year. In spite of the horrible economy, you all were eager to purchase reprints for your loved ones as holiday gifts. Call me biased, but I think there is no better gift for a family member than a photo of loved ones. This is especially true when you're shopping for your parents, because they already have everything they need and they love to see their kids and grandkids more than anything. Parents love photos! I give family photos to my own parents every year. I think one good outcome of this bad economy is that we're reminding each other of what's really important. So spend some time with your loved ones this month, and take a photo while you're at it.

(Speaking of that, tomorrow I'm leaving on a cruise to Mexico with family, and might not have internet access for a while. If you see me posting in the next week, it's a pre-canned post that I set up before leaving. If you need to get in touch with me, I'll get back to you after January 6th).

Iris and Travis at Beaulieu Gardens Wednesday, December 3, 2008  •  Weddings

Iris and Travis were married at the beautiful Beaulieu Vineyard. Their details were exquisite, with floral design by Torryne Choate at Birch. Also, the beautiful save the date dish towel (dish towel!) and letterpress invitations were designed by Viola Sutanto of Chewing the Cud. (If that name sounds familiar, it's because I shot Viola's wedding last year, which was published recently in Bride's Magazine. The dish towel photo below will be running in the next issue of Southern Weddings magazine.

Check out this first photo of the flower girls' pails and the ring bearer's pillow with a heart shaped potato (this is what I love about Torryne. She just found this potato at the farmer's market in the last minute and decided it should go on the pillow). How cute is that?

You might also remember Iris and Travis from their engagement photos. Here are a couple of my favorites.
