Sometimes in an industry, everybody knows everybody. That's how it is for wedding florists. Erica is a wedding florist and Jose works for a wholesale flower shop. They met through flowers. Isn't that romantic? I knew Erica and Jose were special the minute I met them, but what I didn't realize until their wedding is how universally loved and appreciated they are by everyone in the flower business. Many of the guests at the wedding were florists I'd met through my 20 years of photographing weddings, but somehow it didn't occur to me that they also knew *each other*. (I also didn't realize how many florists are redheads. What's up with that?) It was really terrific to see such a hardworking group of people actually sit down and enjoy a wedding. Even more terrific was to see how much they adore Erica and Jose. To be loved, adored, and surrounded by beautiful flowers and beautiful flower people. I can't think of anything better.
The ceremony took place in Kathleen Deery's studio and Kathleen's team did all the florals and decor in her studio. Erica's team did the personal flowers and the reception decor at Bluxome Street Winery.
